Over the last year, I’ve participated in the inaugural Complicating the Narratives Fellowship through the Solutions Journalism Network. This fellowship educated me on solutions journalism methodology and allowed me to focus my attention on a story impacting communities nationwide—gun violence.

In the lead-up to and during the 2022 midterm elections, I went on assignment to cover political stories in West Michigan for The Washington Post. This post showcases the spectrum of imagery from the handful of assignments and thoughts on the experience.

In the summer of 2022, I spent three weeks traveling throughout Iceland. I worked to create images that showcased the raw power and beauty of the island. The images ran as an interactive essay on The Washington Post’s website and also as a large single-page spread in print.
