Italy in Spring

Positano, Italy.

Madison and I spent two weeks this spring in Italy for a belated honeymoon.

It was a fabulous experience (I hadn’t been to Italy in over a decade) and our time was full of food, history, and art. Over the two weeks, we spent time in Rome, Positano, Naples, and Florence.

When traveling, I keep my camera gear simple. For this trip especially, since work wasn’t a part of the itinerary, I kept it to the bare minimum for me—one camera body and two lenses.

Tourism was bustling in each of these locations even though it was early in the season. About halfway through our trip, I had to learn why this might be. I found this article from 2022 in Vox to be illuminating and insightful.

Florence, Italy.

Even though Italy is a clear example of the Instagram vs. Reality trope in many ways, the history that surrounds you every day is something to pay attention to and think about.

That being said, below you’ll find a wide selection of some of my favorite images from our travels in Italy this spring.
