Product Photography for Candle Company

Product photography of beeswax candles.

Product photography requires attention to detail, quality/consistent light, and a clear understanding of the use of the images. I worked with a long-time client and friend at Freer's Corner, a boutique candle company that makes beeswax candles.

Freer’s Corner is a small candle company located in Minnesota. The candles are made from locally harvested beeswax blended with organic coconut oil.

In the past, we’ve created images highlighting the candle vessel's simple design and color palette.

For this session, we created images highlighting Freer’s Corner’s limited-edition rose-shaped candles. This meant there were no vessels to account for, and the focus was only on the candles.

When working with product photography, creating an environment that allows minor adjustments to the scene and significant control of the light is essential. I was utilizing a single off-camera strobe, which allowed for 100% control of the light. The candles were laid out on a vinyl backdrop.

The images came out extremely clean and striking. Maintaining consistency throughout the products creates cohesion when working on a product line. This cohesive feeling translates well when the photos are uploaded to a social media grid or a company's website.

Feel free to reach out if you have a project that you would like to collaborate together on!
