Arienne | Creative Studio Portraiture | South Bend, Indiana
At the end of last year, I had one of the most impactful creative sessions in the studio. The portrait session explored my use of light, color, and time. In this session with Arienne, I wanted to expand on that and apply some feedback that I had received on ways to elevate the methods I was implementing.
One key aspect that I wanted to add was photographing through something. I played with bubble wrap, gels, and a mirror as the items were placed in the foreground.
Overall, the gels were most helpful (as seen in the main image), but I recognize there is a lot of room for other variations on this method that I am excited to test soon.
Throughout the session, though, I continued to move lights and play with my shutter speed. The results were mixed, but one major takeaway was that the variety of images from the session demonstrated a spectrum of moods and feelings.
These creative portrait sessions at Em En Art House continue to fuel my creativity, and I am excited to see where the next session leads!
